Who we are
CampusCrush is operated by Campus Crush, Inc. This policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, and what control you have over your data.
Information you give us
- Account information: your school email address, password, first name, and date of birth.
- Profile information: photos, bio, major, school, and your gender and dating preferences.
- Content: messages you send to people you've matched with.
- Safety information: reports and blocks you submit.
Information we collect automatically
We collect a last-active timestamp so we can understand engagement, device push notification tokens if you enable notifications, and basic technical and log data needed to operate and secure the service.
How we use your information
- To create and verify your account and confirm you're a student
- To show your profile to other students at your school and show you theirs
- To enable matching and messaging
- To send you notifications about matches and messages
- To enforce our Community Guidelines and keep people safe
- To understand how the app is used so we can improve it
What other users can see
Your profile photos, first name, bio, major, school, and the information you choose to include are visible to other verified students. Your email address, date of birth, and the identity of anyone you report are never shown to other users. Reports are confidential.
How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers who help us operate the app, and when required by law or to protect someone's safety.
- Supabase — database, authentication, and photo storage
- Resend — sending account and verification emails
- Expo — app delivery, over-the-air updates, and push notifications
- Apple — App Store distribution
Deleting your account
You can delete your account at any time from Settings inside the app. Deleting removes your profile, photos, messages, matches, likes, blocks, and login.
Important: safety reports filed about an account are retained after deletion so that people removed for serious violations cannot simply delete and re-register.
Data retention
We keep your information while your account is active. After deletion, information is removed except for the safety records described above and anything we are required to keep by law.
Security
Passwords are hashed and never stored in readable form. Data is encrypted in transit, and access is limited. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your choices
You can edit or remove your profile information at any time in the app, turn push notifications off in iOS Settings, block or report any user, and delete your account entirely. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights to access or delete your data. Email privacy@joincampuscrush.com and we'll help.
Age requirement
CampusCrush is strictly for people 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If we learn an account belongs to someone under 18, we remove it and delete the associated data.
Changes to this policy
We'll update this page and note the date. Material changes will be communicated in the app or by email.
